The portal you’ve been using to send and/or receive files from us changed in January, 2020 to a new product called Citrix ShareFile. With ShareFile you can continue to send & receive files using a web browser on a PC or get their mobile app for on-the-go convenience! If you haven’t had a chance to set-up your account yet, please email firstname.lastname@example.org and we’ll set you up.
If you’ve set-up your account but don’t know your password, please use the “Forgot Password” link to set a new password.
Why are we changing our client portal?
In July, 2019 the AICPA (American Institute of Certified Public Accountants) announced new requirements pertaining to how CPA firms should be sharing and exchanging data with their clients. These requirements limit the period of time that we can store copies of client documents on our client portal to 12 months. One of the many great features of Citirix ShareFile is that it allows us to configure a 12-month retention policy that automatically deletes files older than 12 months to ensure we remain in compliance with the new AICPA rules. To comply with all federal and state regulations, we retain copies of your documents on our internal secure document management system for a minimum of 7 years and are happy to provide electronic copies to you at any time upon request.
More about the new ShareFile Client Portal
Your home page should have a list of one or more folders. Click the folder you wish to upload your file to and then click the “Upload Files” link toward the upper right of the page. Next, click the “Choose Files” button to browse for the file(s) you want to upload, or you can drag and drop files into the box with the watermark that says “DRAG FILES HERE.” You can choose more than one file to upload at once. Once you’ve chosen the files you wish to upload, click the “Upload Files” button and you’re done.
Why use something like ShareFile? Can’t I just send you my documents via regular email?
You can, but it’s probably not a good idea. Regular, unencrypted email is not a secure way to send us your data. And while the most secure method of sending us your documents is generally in-person delivery, we understand that’s not always convenient for our clients, or even possible. So we provide ShareFile as an easy, next-best alternative for sending documents securely.
